Food, PDS and Consumer Affairs Minister Saryu Roy suggested Startups and young aspiring business minds to keep welfare of the society in whatever areas they wanted to touch upon as prospective business sector.

Speaking on the occasion of a Startup event on Friday, he asked young business aspirants and leaders of Startups to remain focused on the clarity of vision of not only their respective new businesses, but also whether how much productive and supportive their ventures are going to be for the society and humanity.

Taking discourse of Startups to macro level since post independence era, Roy dwelt upon very need and dynamics of innovative business ideas. In an event where Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma assured young business minds and future job providers in State every possible and timely support by the government, the Minister came forward to teach them the lesson of going slow and steady with keeping well-being of society in mind all the time.

“Time for new ideas has come and we will have to go with it. World has been changing because the technology since centuries, most speedily during last century, has compelled us to change.

There is no alternative of continued invention despite the fact that most of inventions have remained under question in terms of their productivity for the society.

Moreover, most of the inventions have been engulfed by big fishes as they progressed and it will continue to happen. However, this will not stop us from looking at an idea whose time has come and we need to continue despite threats from big fishes in the way,” said Roy.

Roy encouraged Startups coming in the field of agriculture to go ahead without wasting time as agriculture needed the Start Ups the most for agriculture information technology because our agriculture remained based on so many external factors. He however suggested the government on the sidelines of the event to remain available for the Startups to facilitate them wherever and whatever they required, but not to make unnecessary hurry in the process which might end spoiling many things in long run.

Setting the agenda of StartOvation, an event by Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in association with the Information Technology and e-Governance Department (Jharkhand), ICC Jharkhand Council Chairman and Tata Steel Chief Resident Executive (Ranchi) Shailesh Verma said that it was pleasant to see bankers and governments have started investing remarkable amount of money in Startups in recent years.

“However, first of all find your own desire, willingness and inclination about businesses.

Then, go for strength, weakness, opportunities and threat (SWOT) analysis about the business you want to venture in which is extremely important followed by training,” asked Verma to the aspiring young business minds.

CS Rajbala Verma said on the occasion that Jharkhand is a young State with young minds.

“The government has started over 105 ITIs, many universities and colleges in last three years. We have Jharkhand Skill Mission in place with Mega Skill Centres. Creating business opportunities is among the priorities of the government. We are creating investment opportunities. But to create job opportunities, Startups and entrepreneurship will have to take centrestage,” said Verma.

She added that the government has come out with at least 10 policies including those in textiles, IT, food processing and many others. She said that Jharkhand is in process of finalizing Startup policy which is the best among similar policies in other states.

We are having Jharkhand Innovation Lab (JIL) in place for promotion and incubation of Startups. Shobhit University Chancellor Kunwar Shekhar Vijendra, IT Department Director UP Shah and others were also present on the occasion other than dozens of young Startups and aspiring business minds.
