The Cyber Crime cell nabbed a 25-year-old engineering student from Rampur (Chhattisgarh) on the charge of his involvement in posting indecent messages and videos over Whatsapp number of a married woman and molested her by obstructing her way; a case was registered on Thursday.
According to the police, the accused Abhisek Kumar (25) used to send indecent messages and videos to the victim.
The victim lodged a complaint with the cyber cell stating that on her whatsapp number she was receiving indecent messages and videos due to which she remains frustrated and depressed. Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigations the police have registered a case under section 67 and 67 A of the IT Act.
During the investigation it was found that Abhisek Kumar of Chhattisgarh who used to send the victim obscene messages and videos after which he was nabbed and when he was quizzed he confessed that used to send the messages and videos to the victim.
The accused was pursuing engineering from a private college.
He confessed that he was fond of victim and due to which he used to send messages and videos.
He was aware that the victim was married but still he wanted spent time with her.
The victim in her complaint stated that she had tried to stop the accused but he continued to send obscenity over phone and would molest her after which she lodged a complaint with the cyber police.
The accused escaped the city after he found that the victim has lodged a complaint with the police.
