HYDERABAD:  Hyderabad youth Vidul Thimanna has topped the all India Merit list of Technical Entry Scheme (TES) to join the Indian Armed Forces. Vidul Thimanna, after his schooling from the Army Public School in Secunderabad recently, is presently pursuing his engineering degree at the Army Institute of Technology, Pune. Topping the list of TES, Vidul will now discontinue his education at AIT, Pune.
Son of Col CM Thimanna, Shaurya Chakra, who is currently posted at the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering(MCEME) Secunderabad, Vidul had earlier this year cleared class XII examination with a score of 97 percent (PCM).

A media release said that the family hails from Coorg district in Karnataka. TES, presently the most sought after entry, according to the release, is a highly competitive entry into the Indian Army with a very limited intake and rigorous standards of selection procedures. TES is a four year programme for officer trainees and results of the entrance test were declared on November 29.

After learning about the results, Vidul said that it was a dream that has come true.
“It was my passion to serve the country by joining one of the finest and a noble profession like the Indian Army, the challenging and the adventurous life the army offers is any day better than delivering from a cubicle of a MNC,” he was quoted in the media release.
