The Pacific School Games Championship will begin from December 3 in Adelaide, Australia. As many as 180 players from all over the country will take part in the championship which includes 18 players from Madhya Pradesh.
School Education Department gave the information that School Education Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah has been nominated as the Head of the Delegation of the team of 180 players from the country. His nomination has been done by School Games Federation of India (SGFI). The total expense of his journey is being incurred by SGFI.
The championship to be held in Adelaide will conclude on December 9. The selection of the state’s players of the winning team of the national hockey championship held last year was based on age group. Besides this, the state’s players who won medals in the national competitions of driving, swimming, net last year have also been selected. The selection trial for selection of best players of Net ball and Soft ball was taken in Bhopal. Those players who took part in the 62nd National Sports Competition in 2016-17 and are eligible on the basis of age were included in the trial.
This way, 7 players in hockey, 7 in swimming and diving, 5 in Net ball and 10 players in Soft ball were selected.
This championship is being organized by Australia School Sports in which the last date of online entry was October 31, 2017. In view of the time-limit, the last date was extended to November 10, 2017 on the appeal of School Games Federation of India. A scanned copy of passport has to be attached with the online entry is mandatory.
