Robert Kubica has not competed in Formula One since suffering serious injuries in a 2011 rally crash

The British constructors are in the market for a replacement for Felipe Massa, who retired at the end of the 2017 campaign.

And a host of drivers have been considered as they look for the right man to partner Lance Stroll.

Kubica has been hotly-tipped to make a return to Formula One with Williams having driven in three tests for them.

Sirotkin is desperate to make the step up and take a place on the grid having been a test driver for Sauber and Renault though.

"I want to thank Williams for giving me the opportunity even if I don't know what the future will bring," he told AutoHebdo.

"What is certain is that I am not here at the test to enjoy the sun.

"I cannot hope for a Renault seat in the immediate future, but it's a privilege to be able to work with different teams at the highest level.

"It's really hard not to have a seat and just be the reserve.

"I know I'm learning a lot but I need adrenaline."

Despite battling with Kubica for a place at Williams, Sirotkin revealed he’s got on well with the Pole during testing in Abu Dhabi.

"I met Robert for the first time and he's very open and nice," he added.

"He happily talked to me and we could compare our times even if that doesn't mean much.

"The main thing for him was to have been able to drive at a good level.

"I think what he has done is really exceptional."
