ISLAMABAD: Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) was on Friday celebrated across Pakistan with religious zeal and fervour.

The day started with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital Islamabad and 21-gun salute in provincial capitals to pay homage to the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Celebratory processions were taken out in all parts of the country and Pakistan-adminsitered Kashmir.

Government and private buildings were all lit up tastefully. Streets, mosques, shrines, shopping centres and houses were also illuminated with colourful lights.

Special conferences, events and Mahafil-i-Naat were arranged across the country to pay homage to the last messenger whose life and teachings are a beacon of light.

Seerat conferences were held at the provincial headquarters along with other cities and towns.

Religious scholars highlighted various aspects of Seeratun Nabi (PBUH) and call on people to follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
