Chandigarh: Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar ordered a three-member committee to regularly interact with the work contractors for the completion of various government projects in a time-bound manner. He was presiding over a meeting to review the chief minister's announcements for five departments — agriculture, urban local bodies, public works (building and roads), development and panchayats and irrigation.
The committee comprising additional chief secretary (public health engineering) P K Mahapatra, additional chief secretary (public works building and roads) Alok Nigam and principal secretary (irrigation) Anurag Rastogi has been set up to monitor the work of contractors.
The committee would convene meetings with the contractors' association, hold category wise interactions and redress their grievances, if any. The CM said a mechanism should be evolved to resolve the inter-departmental issues to ensure that the progress of development works and projects is not hampered.
Besides, he also directed the administrative secretaries of the department concerned to review the progress of CM's announcement every week. He said a list of issues, which could be resolved at the level of central government, should be submitted to him at the earliest so that it could be taken up with the ministry concerned.
He said development projects in which land issues were involved, the department concerned could upload their demand on the e-Bhoomi portal. The land would also be made available to gram panchayats or institutions intended to set up cowsheds on the 'Gocharan Bhoomi' in Haryana. Such land would be provided to them with right to use only, he said.
