Manchester United and Real Madrid have bid for Kasper Dolberg ahead of January window

MANCHESTER UNITED and Real Madrid have both tabled bids for Ajax star Kasper Dolberg, according to reports.

Dolberg starred for Ajax last season, scoring 23 goals from 47 games to propel them to the Europa League final, where they were beaten by Manchester United.

The 20-year-old is billed as one of the biggest talents of his generation, with five goals this season only serving to enhance his reputation.

And Spanish outlet Don Balon say United and Real Madrid have both made offers for Dolberg ahead of the January transfer window.

The Red Devils may be tempted to sign him next month with Romelu Lukaku’s goals drying up.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is expected to leave at the end of the campaign and, though United still retain an interest in Antoine Griezmann, Dolberg would be a cheaper alternative.

Real Madrid are also keen to make him their replacement for Karim Benzema.

Benzema has recently rediscovered his best form, but Real’s need to replace him is growing more evident by the year.

But Don Balon say the Ajax hitman could be set for a sensational move to Barcelona.

The Catalan giants have supposedly been contacted by Dolberg himself, with the striker telling the La Liga side they are his preferred destination.

Barcelona could also do with some more firepower with the club yet to truly replace Neymar.

Luis Suarez has struggled for consistency and still appears jaded from a knee injury picked up against Real Madrid back in August.

And Ousmane Dembele has been out for three months with a hamstring tear.

Barca remain reliant on Lionel Messi and Dolberg could be the man to help out the Argentina international.
