Energy minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has decided to divide MSEDCL into three wings for providing better consumer service. The division will be done right from junior engineer level.
“Right now a junior engineer or deputy executive engineer is responsible for meter reading, billing as well as technical side. This prevents him or her from concentrating on any one activity. After the internal restructuring, a JE of DyEE will be responsible only for one activity,” the minister told TOI.
As the restructuring is an internal one, it will not require any legislation. Extra staffers will also not be required in the new structure.
Despite poor performance of private distribution franchisees in the state, Bawankule has decided to appoint them for Aurangabad, Jalgaon, Malegaon and Mumbra-Kalwa. The cities of Beed, Jalna, Latur and Nanded are next on the anvil. Read More…
