PIMPRI CHINCHWAD: An app will guide people to locate a public toilet nearby after Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) uploaded information about all the 535 toilets in the city.
Vijay Khorate, assistant commissioner with charge of joint commissioner, said, "The Union urban development department(UDD) has developed a cellphone-based app called toilet locator to help citizens. Public and community toilets, including those in petrol pumps, malls, hospitals, railway station and bus stands are shown by the app."
It has been working well in Delhi, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and Noida. The Quality Council of India (QCI) team had visited the city in August and trained civic employees about conducting asurvey of public toilets. A total of 535 public toilets were found in the survey and the information was uploaded a week ago.
