AHMEDABAD: Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan has expressed hope that the petroleum products will also come under the ambit of Goods and Service Tax (GST) in the next one and half year.
Talking to reporters here, he said, “The Government in-principle is ready to bring petroleum products under the GST purview. We, in the GST Council are of the view to bring it in.”
Further, he added there is need to build consensus in the council for its inclusion in the GST. “Currently, some states are not ready to come in. But in the next one and half years, we hope we will be able to do it.” (AGENCIES)
