Man City coach Pep Guaridola echoes Vincent Kompany: We can be invincible

PEP GUARDIOLA has echoed the rallying words of his captain Vincent Kompany in declaring that Manchester City have that invincible feeling.

Pep Guardiola's Manchester City are top of the Premier League

Guardiola has presided over a sensational unbeatable start to the season with his brand of free-flowing football taking the breath away at home and abroad.

Struggling West Ham are up next at the Etihad today but the City boss will treat them with the same respect as he will give to rivals United in the Manchester derby next Sunday.

But Guardiola can’t help speaking for the first time about City’s incredible winning mentality which has seen them race clear in the chase for the Premier League title and qualify for the Champions League knock out stages.

Guardiola said: “Liverpool at home, winning at Stamford Bridge, at Napoli, against Shakhtar, gives you confidence. You have to see it, believe it, feel it.

“It’s as our captain Vincent said we now have a feeling that wherever we go, whoever we play, we are capable of winning. And that is the first step to arrive at the end of a competition.

We now have a feeling that wherever we go, whoever we play, we are capable of winning

Man City coach Pep Guardiola

“To fighting to win the title. Human beings are the same. After you get one or two good results your mood is higher. I cannot deny we’re in better form that West Ham.

“We have better results than West Ham. We have to respect them and the best respect is to be serious and play as well as possible.

“We have a lot of confidence but it’s the same three points as United. It counts the same. United is not six points. It’s three.

“I don’t know if West Ham will attack or defend with four or five at the back but we have to adapt. We have to find a solution, create more chances when it is that more complicated.”
