BEIRUT: A missile attack probably carried out by the Israeli military struck positions of the Syrian government and its allies southwest of Damascus overnight, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported.
An Israeli military spokeswoman declined comment on earlier reports of such an attack overnight.
