Indian Skipper Virat Kohli completed 5000 runs in test cricket today. Kohli achieved the milestone in front of his home fans on the first day of the third and final test against Sri Lanka at Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi.
The 29-year-old batsman is the 11th Indian batsman to achieve the milestone.
Meanwhile, India were 361 for 2 when reports last came in. Murali Vijay at 155 and Virat Kohli at 153 were at the crease.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, India lost early wickets in opener Shikhar Dhawan and Cheteshwar Pujara. Dhawan became off- spinner Dilruwan Perera’s 100th Test victim.
India leads the three match series, 1-0.
