‘Junior traffic force’ formed to spread traffic awareness

On the direction of Uttarakhand Chief  Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, junior traffic force involving school students has been formed at police headquarters, Dehradun.  Similar forces would be set up in other districts too in the coming days. Around 150 students of 10 different Government and private schools have been given training about traffic rules, prevention of road accidents among others by the senior police officers at police headquarters on Friday. He said that these kinds of activities are vital for spreading awareness about traffic.

These students (junior traffic force) would create awareness about traffic sense and traffic rules among other school students and the common people, said AIG (traffic headquarters) Kewal Khurana.

During training programme, State DGP Anil K Raturi spoke of  the traffic rules in details while ADGP V Vinay Kumar stressed on the need  to form junior traffic force on the pattern of NCC unit in the schools. It must be written here that thousands of people die in road accidents. IG Deepam Seth exhorted the students to create awareness about traffic rules among the common people. IG Sanjay Gunjyal dwelt on the   the road accidents resulting in deaths and injuries. Students were administered oath of following traffic rules
