TTP claiming Peshawar attack is a proof it was planned in Afghanistan: Pak army

The Pakistani military has claimed that the attack on Peshawar agriculture institute was planned by terrorists in Afghanistan and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan’s claim is a proof for it.

A spokesman for the Pakistani military Gen. Asif Ghafoor has said “Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claiming the responsibility for the attack is a proof that it was planned by terrorists based in Afghanistan.”

He said “The terrorists were in contact with their accomplices in Afghanistan and the executors of this attack are still based there.”

The Afghan government officials have not commented regarding the remarks so far but they have in the past insisted on intelligence sharing to eliminate the terror safe havens.

Both Afghanistan and Pakistan blame the terror groups based on the two sides of the line after similar attacks.

The Afghan officials are saying that the majority of the deadly attacks are planned by the Haqqani terrorist network based in Pakistan, a claim which has also been endorsed by the US officials who are saying that the network has freedom of action in Pakistan.

At least nine people were killed and thirty seven others were wounded after a group of armed men stormed into the institute early on Friday.

The attack sparked a gun battle between the security forces and the assailants that lasted for a long time until they were all shot dead.
