(MENAFN) President Trump declared Friday afternoon that even with latest rumors; Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is planning to walk out of the Trump administration.

The president confirmed in a tweet "the media has been speculating that I fired Rex Tillerson or that he would be leaving soon - FAKE NEWS, he's not leaving and while we disagree on certain subjects, (I call the final shots) we work well together and America is highly respected again!"

The tweet came as a response to reports released this week indicating Tillerson's anticipated resignation in January. The reports also claimed that CIA Director Mike Pompeo is to take his post after him.
