It is held that the word Islam, meaning 'peace and submission' is the name given by God Almighty Allah to the religion revealed by Him to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) through the Holy Qur'an.

According to Islam, the true purpose of a human being's life is the worship of God, the attainment of His understanding and complete devotion to Him. It is believed that a Muslim's first duty is to His Creator by worshipping Him and to follow His commands known as "Haqu-Allah." The second duty of the followers is to serve humanity. This duty is called "Haqul-Ibaad" and the follower is meant to show his or her love for His Creator by expressing love and compassion for all His creation.Prime Minister Modi greets nation on Id-E-Milad
