On the 30th anniversary of World AIDS Day, brands are using social media for education, remembrance, and seeking donations.
Pharma companies with HIV treatments, such as Gilead, GSK, and Johnson & Johnson, shared the science that goes into their advancements. Meanwhile, nonprofits such as GLAAD, Human Rights Campaign, and Doctors Without Borders showcased their organizations’ work to help people with the disease. Durex stressed the importance of condoms in preventing HIV transmission.
Non-healthcare brands also tweeted their support for World AIDS Day. Sesame Street featured an HIV-positive character from its South African counterpart.
