New Delhi: Everyone has their sights set on India's upcoming series against South Africa, be it the cricketers or the fans. When everyone seems to have an opinion about what's going to happen at the series, former India captain Kapil Dev very mildly put the ball in India's court. Speaking at the CNN-News18 Indian of the Year 2017, Kapil said, "I think the team has reached a level where they can beat anyone."

"Be it South Africa..or Australia, I think we have a captain who understands how the team functions."

Kapil also referred to the problem of plenty that India is going to face. "The only problem that the team is going to face is that whom they are going to pick in the playing XI, as we have a very strong bench."

The opinion voiced by Kapil seems pertinent, as the players who are getting opportunities are proving their worth. Ishant Sharma, who came to the team after a layoff, also Murali Vijay, did enough to cement their place in the team by picking five wickets and scoring a hundred, respectively.

As far as the series against Sri Lanka is concerned, India won the second Test at Nagpur, by a margin of an innings and 239 runs.
