EESL to invest `30 cr to make CR energy efficient
Mumbai : Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) will provide energy efficient fans, air- conditioners, LEDs in place of old fittings in the current financial year, to Central Railways (CR). This is part of the agreement signed between EESL and five divisions of CR— Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Solapur and Bhusawal.
Under this agreement EESL will invest 100 per cent which is approximately Rs 30 crore initially. Central Railway will pay back quarterly instalments to EESL from the savings achieved from energy bills by retaining some part of savings for the next five years.
It is estimated that energy saving per annum will be 1.4 crore units, which will result in savings of Rs 13.14 crore per annum.
