BENGALURU: A man was arrested for allegedly hiring three supari killers to murder his wife, on Wednesday. The husband is Narendra Babu (36), a resident of Vyalikaval.  Babu along with three men Chinnaswamy, Sridhar and Abhilash had hatched a plot to kill his wife Vinutha (30).  The four were nabbed by the police while they were planning the murder near Vinayak Circle. Police found two sickles and chilli powder in their possession. According to police, they had planned to kill Vinutha the same day.
Babu works as an attender at a branch of Canara Bank.

Police said Babu had agreed to pay `15 lakh to the three men to carry out the deed, and had already paid `2 lakh as advance. A senior police officer said, “The couple had major disagreements for several years. In fact, five to six cases had been registered against Babu by his wife. These included cases of domestic violence, harassment and civil dispute.” Babu and Vinutha had been staying separately for three years.
The ownership of their house in Malleswaram was also a bone of contention. A week ago, Vinutha had moved into the house, which angered Babu.

A police official said that Babu and his parents had asked Vinutha to leave the house. Since Vinutha had to live separately, she had claimed compensation from Babu, who refused to give any money. During interrogation, Babu alleged that Vinutha had filed a false complaint against him and had plans to usurp his property. The four accused have been booked on various charges, including attempt-to-murder.
