Maruti's sales rise 14.3% to 1,44,297 units in November

The country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki on Friday reported 14.3% increase in wholesale volumes at 144297 units for November.
Though sales of mini cars (Alto, WagonR) declined by 1.8% to 38204 units last month, those of compacts (Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno, DZire and Tour S) rose 32.4% to 65447 units. The company sold 4009 units of the Ciaz in the month under review, which is a decline of 26.2% over 5433 units sold in the year-ago period.
Demand for utility vehicles (Gypsy, Ertiga, Brezza, S Cross) remained strong to grow by 34% to 23702 units. Sales of vans Omni and Eeco grew 10.8% to 13565 units.
The company sold 1003 units of light commercial vehicle Super Carry during the month.
