PUBG Xbox One release SHOCK: Bad news for PlayerUnknown's BattleGrounds fans

PlayerUnkown's Battlegrounds has announced that it will run at 30FPS on all Xbox One consoles.

That means the game will play at 30 frames per second on Xbox One, Xbox One S and Xbox One X machines.

This is in contrast to what developer Bluehole announced previously - where they stated the game would run at 60FPS on the Xbox One X.

The developer had previously stated that when the game came to Xbox Games Preview, it would run at 60FPS on Xbox's newest, more powerful console.

But since the machine is more powerful than previous Xbox One models, it's likely the development team haven't managed to match up those consoles with the One X just yet.

If the game did launch at 60FPS on one machine whilst operating at 30 on others, it would give players on Xbox One X a huge advantage and would render the game unfair.

60FPS is generally seen to be better than 30FPS because it allows for players to infer more information per second about what's on-screen, and allows players to respond quicker to threats or situations.

It also looks better than 30FPS, too.

A tweet from PlayerUnknown's Twitter account reads:

While I previously stated PUBG would run at higher FPS at XGP launch on 12/12, I want to clarify that PUBG will run at 30 FPS across all @Xbox One devices. We’re constantly refining the game & exploring options to increase FPS, but this early in dev, we’re unable to confirm more

It's worth remembering that the game will be launching to Game Preview, and by the time a 'full releaese' comes along, the developers may well have found a solution to the 60FPS problem.

This news comes after PUBG made some large changes on its test server, pending their incorporation into the actual game.

PlayerUnknown and Microsoft has confirmed that PUBG will be coming to Xbox One this year.

Brendan Greene – aka PlayerUnknown – and Chang Han Kim (CEO of PUBG Corp) opened the Xbox booth with Aaron Greenberg, General Manager of Xbox Games Marketing and the announcement that Battlegrounds is coming to Xbox One.

The game will launch for the console on December 12 - via Early Access on the console.

"We’re approaching development on Xbox One with the same community-driven focus that we’ve taken with the game on PC," writes Kim in a post on Xbox Wire.

"As a result, the ultimate battle royale experience that fans play on Xbox One will be slightly different than what players know today on PC."

"In addition to announcing Xbox’s XGP launch date on December 12, we also shared the exciting news that we’re on track to launch 1.0 for the PC version in late December

"This has been an amazing year for us and launching both 1.0 on PC and on Xbox through Xbox Game Preview are huge milestones for the team

"I’m incredibly proud of how far we’ve come in such a short time, but I’m even more excited to say that we’re just getting started."
