two new conditions have been added to the list of qualifying conditions for minnesota's medical cannabis program. kimt news three's deedee stiepan joins us live in studio to tell us more./// starting next summer ? autism spectrum disorder and obstructive sleep apnea patients can seek treatment using medical marijuana... the state health commissioner made the announcement after reviewing petitions and research on the conditions. for autism spectrum disorder specifically ? studies show that cannabis can help regulate emotions and focus ? act as a protectant to prevent further degration of brain cells and help correct some behavioral issues. i spoke to a local parent who is open to seeing if the treatment can help her 13? year old son with autism.xxx "it could just, for my son it could just be life?changing for him and as a parent anything i could do that could help improve his life would be worth a try." she tells me that it could be a great alternative to other treatment options which can have serious side effects. patients living with autism and obstructive sleep apnea may begin the certification process in july and will have access to the medicine in august.///
