

UP Civic Poll Results: The Winner Here Was Declared After a Lucky Draw
Since it was a tie, the election officials decided the winner through a lucky draw. BJP’s Meera Agarwal was declared winner after the draw.

Mathura: Lady luck was smiling on BJP in the Uttar Pradesh civic polls, certainly so in Ward no.56 in Mathura. Both the candidates BJP and Congress candidates polled the same number of votes — 874.
Since it was a tie, the election officials decided the winner through a lucky draw. BJP’s Meera Agarwal was declared winner after the draw.
The BJP has won two mayoral seat and is ahead in 12 in the Uttar Pradesh municipal elections, the BSP is second with three seats.
While the BJP seems to be heading for a big win, the seems to be on arevival path after poor performance in the UP Assemby elections. BSP is leading in three of the 16 mayoral seats. This is the first time Mayawati has contested the urban civic polls on the party symbol.
BSP seems to be picking up votes in areas with substantial Dalit population in western UP and Bundelkhand region.
The counting was going on for 16 nagar nigam, 198 nagar palika parishad and 438 nagar panchayats
