Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) 2017 is happening in Hyderabad this year. The first all-woman panel discussion suggests that AI will have an immense positive impaction human lives. The complex technology will do more good than harm. Machine learning and AI have great potential to change many transactional technologies of today's age.

AI can changeable aspects of our day to day lives. There are a lot of instances where AI usage can inspire the confidence among certain people. There are a lot of opportunities in solving the complex real-world problems with AI. The Indian startups working in the AI are creating a lot of employment opportunities for skilled engineers.

Nivruti Rai, the country head of Intel India said, "AI is going to touch our lives in many forms...chatbots (which use AI to talk to humans) are being used as companions for aging populations in Japan and China. AI will also change how cities function ... to cite an example, most number of young people between the age of 18-24 die due to road accidents and AI can help address this. In the area of healthcare, in 60 seconds, nanobots can cut all the cancer cells inside a human body and of course, there has to be policy support."

The panel explained that Ai might take away certain jobs but it will lead to the creation of new ones. Engineers today need to adapt their skills, think out of the box for the new job roles. Rai cited a statement by Bill Gates, he had said that every job that company offers to a robot should pay a certain amount of tax, which the company can use to reskill its employees for a different role.

Corporates need to partner with academic institutions to ensure that the workforce and students are equipped to work in the new technologies. AI and automation have been in the limelight for the job threat that these technologies posses. The employees doing traditional jobs need to equip themselves for more productive tasks.
