DGP reviews security at Kalinga Stadium

The Commissionerate police have made foolproof security arrangements for the Men’s World Hockey League beginning on Friday at the Kalinga Stadium here.

 DGP RP Sharma on Thursday took stock of the security arrangements in the stadium.

 “The security arrangements have been made in different layers and we have deployed 27 platoons of police force and officers to ensure smooth conduct of the tournament,” Sharma told mediapersons.

“DIG-rank officers and SP rank officers have been entrusted with the responsibility for supervision of the security measures for players, spectators and the guests visiting the stadium,” added Sharma.

 Police Commissioner YB Khurania and Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi were also present during the DGP’s visit.

Besides, the police issued a traffic advisory for the spectator stating that no vehicle without a pass would be allowed to enter the stadium and spectators have to park their vehicles at sites identified by the police. The ticket and pass holders cannot carry any baggage, water bottles or objectionable items like matchbox to the stadium.

Spectators can park their two-wheelers at he Behera Sahi ground near Gate No. 1 of the stadium while all types of vehicles can be parked at the Regional Institute of Education ground and Nicco Park Road. Cars and two-wheelers can also be parked at the Reserve Police Line ground.
