AVENGERS INFINITY WAR discussion has got more and more in-depth since the trailer was released earlier this week - but did we actually see a major character die?
A new theory explains why one particular Marvel character may have had their demise shown surprisingly early.
Writing on Reddit, user Jung_Wheats shared their thoughts on why a big punch to Tony Stark aka Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) may have been fatal.
“I think that punch killed Tony,” they said, receiving hundreds of Upvotes.
“He goes down like a bag of rocks. I mean he got laid TF out.

“People expect a big sacrificial death, but I think it'd be more unexpected and impactful if he got killed quickly, without a lot of fanfare.
“He made the giant sacrifice at the end of Avengers 1, but made it out alive. I think it'd be interesting if he tries to swoop in and save Spider-man, tries to talk trash to Thanos and gets laid out.”
The theorist added: “Nothing to support it, but it seems like a good way to show us the stakes and the power Thanos operates with.
“Plus Tony's absence would be felt as much as his presence.”

Other characters who have been touted to kick the bucket include Vision, Captain America, Hawkeye and Bucky.
A huge ensemble cast have been recruited for the film, which will lead directly into Avengers 4.
Avengers Infinity War is out on April 27 in the UK.
