Lucknow: The results the Uttar Pradesh local body polls will be declared on Friday. According to the early trends, popping up after the counting of votes began at 0800 hours, the Bharatiya Janata Party has won the Mathura mayoral seats and is leading the scoreboard with 13 seats still in its kitty while Bahujan Samaj Party won on Aligarh seat.

The BSP is giving a tough fight to the BJP in the first three hours of counting of votes case in the mayoral elections in 16 municipal corporations, a Uttar Pradesh poll panel official said.

These polls are seen as the first real test of the Yogi Adityanath government in the state, who led the BJP’s campaign carrying out 40 elections rallies across the state during the elections.

The polls were conducted in three phases on November 22, 26 and 29. The counting is going on for 16 nagar nigam, 198 nagar palika parishad and 438 nagar panchayats.
