HYDERABAD: With the date (December 4) for holding Koluvula kai Kotlata (Fight for jobs) approaching fast, the Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) chairman M Kodandaram and other members of the organisation have intensified their campaign to ensure that higher number of students and unemployed youth turn up at the meeting.
The TJAC leaders are now primarily focusing on universities and students’ hostels. All the universities across the state have become a platform for them to undertake an extensive campaign seeking student community’s support for the programme aimed at exposing the government’s alleged failure to fill all vacant posts in various departments.
For instance, Kodandaram has knocked on every hostel door in the Osmania University campus in the past two days in order to invite students to the meeting. On Wednesday night, the TJAC chairman visited various hostels in the OU campus and addressed a gathering of students. “There are almost two lakh vacancies in various departments of the government.
But, so far the government has been unable to fill the vacant posts as per the expectations of the unemployed youth. That is why we are holding a meeting on December 4 to exert pressure on the government to hold job recruitment drives,” Kodandaram told the students. He then made an appeal to them to attend the meeting to be held at Saroornagar Indoor Stadium here on December 4 in a large numbers.
