
App to help PLHIV to be launched today

HYDERABAD: A mobile application ‘Ayurdavan’ which sends voice messages to People Living with HIV (PLHIV) alerts if they missed due date to collect monthly (HIV or AIDS) drug dose from Anti-Retroviral Therapy (ART) Centres will be launched on the occasion of World AIDS Day on Friday. PLHIVs need not own a smartphone to receive the voice messages as even a basic phone would do the job.
The app also sends voice messages before date of collecting drug dosage. Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Telangana State AIDS Control Society (TSACS) project director A Sonibala Devi said that they have developed the app with the help of the Ministry of Information Technology, and security of the PLHIV’s data will be taken care by the ministry.
Also, another app ‘Right to Health’ which gives information on AIDS Service delivery points including centres where HIV tests are performed, information clearing myths about HIV/AIDS and others will be launched at a prograamme to be held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.
