Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today hailed the landslide victory for the BJP in state civic polls as a stamp of approval for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policies.
When asked by India Today's Rahul Kanwal that would he like to supercede PM Modi in future.
Yogi's reply was a verse from Gita, which incidentally was also recited by PM Modi in the Parliament on 27 November, 2015.
"Kaamaye Dukha-Taptanam Praninamarti Naashanam".
The full shloka is as follows:
"Na Twaham Kamaye Rajyam Na Swargam Na-apunarbhavam. Kaamaye Dukha-Taptanam Praninamarti Naashanam."
"O Lord ! I do not want any Kingdom, nor heavenly pleasure nor even escape from rebirth. But I do want that the affliction of all beings tormented by the miseries of life may cease."
