King of Prussia Town Center: The second annual free Winterfest Festival is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 2 at 200 Main St., King of Prussia, at the pavilion in front of Davio’s Italian Steakhouse. Enjoy local school choir performances, ice sculptures, winter-themed activities, a cookie decorating and hot chocolate station and sampling the area’s newest restaurants. Winterfest’s charity partner, Cradles for Crayons, will be on site accepting coat donations. Santa will visit the Town Center at 12:30.
Upper Darby Performing Arts Center: The Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra embarks on a Seasonal Sounds concert, featuring special guests, at 3 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center, 601 N. Peddler’s Village: The annual Peddler’s Village Christmas Festival runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 2-3. Join the fun for the Santa and Mrs. Claus Parades through the village both days at 1:30 p.m., from Buttonwood Grill to Giggleberry Fair. Visit the Gingerbread House Competition and Display in the Village Gazebo and enjoy mulled cider, which will be sold on the Main Green, along with complimentary marshmallows for toasting. Indian Valley Hometown Christmas Holiday House Tour: The seventh annual self-guided tour will be held noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 3 and is sponsored by Zwingli United Church of Christ in Souderton. Pages to Pirouettes’ “The Nutcracker”: A performance of the ballet set to the music of Tchaikovsky are set for 3 p.m. Dec. 2 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 120 N. Barns-Brinton House: Winter in colonial America gave people a chance to relax and unwind following the harvest and butchering seasons. People often took time to travel and visit friends and relations during the winter months. The Chadds Ford Historical Society introduces a new 21-and-over event for the holiday season, Twilight Tidings at the Tavern, Dec. 2 at the Barns-Brinton House, 630 Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford. Celebrate the season with a historic look at the four major holidays of the 18th century winter season: Christmas, New Year’s, Twelfth Night and Candlemas. There will also be a 90-minute open house where you can explore the 1714 tavern at your own pace and enjoy samples of historic holiday foods and complimentary beverages like wassail, mulled wine and punch. Adventure Aquarium: Christmas Underwater takes place Dec. 2-30. Every holiday season, Scuba Santa appears both in water and on dry land at the aquarium at 1 Riverside Drive, Camden, N.J. To make their Christmas extra special this year, he decided to gather corals from all over the world’s oceans to create the World’s Tallest Underwater Christmas Tree in the Shark Realm. Macy’s Center City: Through Dec. 31 catch the Christmas Light Show (which also comes with a Wanamaker Organ Concert at the noon show) at the store in the historic Wanamaker Building at 1300 Market St., Philadelphia. The store also has a 6,000-square-foot, walk-through Dickens Village on the third floor, with more than 100 animated figures reenacting 26 of “A Christmas Carol”’s most memorable moments.
Comcast Center: The 15-minute Comcast Holiday Spectacular happens at the top of each hour 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (excluding weekdays at 5 p.m.) through Dec. 31 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on New Year’s Day on the video wall inside the Comcast Center, 1701 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Philadelphia.
