VIJAYAWADA: In yet another shock to YSRC chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy before his Praja Sankalpa Yatra reaches Anantapur district, former MLA from Anantapur and YSRC leader B Gurunath Reddy joined the Telugu Desam party at the residence of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at Undavalli on Thursday night. The TDP chief welcomed Gurunath Reddy into the party by offering him a yellow shawl.
Gurunath Reddy, a close associate of the YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s family for decades, was unhappy with the political moves of Jagan in Anantapur urban constituency. Gurunath Reddy and his brothers were maintaining a distance from the party activities for the past few months. MP JC Diwakar Reddy was present when Gurunath Reddy joined the TDP. Gurunath Reddy said that the Chief Minister is providing water to drought-prone Rayalaseema region, which inspired him to join the ruling TDP. “I don’t need any post in TDP,” he said.
