The National AIDS Commission held the official ceremonies for World AIDS Day 2017 at the Battlefield Park this morning.
The event gathered various health sector partners such as the Ministry of Health, and Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) to disseminate pertinent HIV/AIDS and other sexual reproductive health information to the public.
The event also features free HIV testing, counseling services and an exhibit where artists made paintings bearing positive HIV prevention messages.
The NAC also took the opportunity to distribute HIV Unsong Hero awards, to community workers who have been active in the realm of HIV prevention and testing throughout the country.
Following the official ceremonies the NAC will hold a health fair until 3 p.m.
