The union cabinet has approved Rs 9000 crore project to address the under-nourishment and stunting among children.
The project will be rolled out immediately in 315 districts which have been identified as "high-burden." Another 200 odd districts will be covered in the next financial year and by 2020, the entire country will be covered.
An IT based system will be set up to monitor the progress of this mission. This system will track the growth of children, their attendance at Anganwadis, proper vaccinations and also keep an eye on delivery of services.
