Debt-ridden man commits suicide: Family members create ruckus

A ruckus was created at 80 ft road in Ashoka Garden on Thursday by family members of a deceased by keeping body of 29-year-old man who committed suicide at Mayur Vihar Colony after been harassed by money lenders on Wednesday.

The family members were demanding arrest of the accused who have harassed the deceased Manoj Singh to the extreme level which forced him to commit suicide.

CSP Govindpura Kulwant Singh said that a case against the accuse Zuber Maulana has been registered and search has been started for the accused. The details of the victim’s transactions with the accused money lenders are under investigation.

The protesting people were assured that the accused would be nabbed as their lone demand was to arrest the accused who have forced the deceased to take extreme step.

The deceased got married in the year 2013 and is survived by wife and nine month old baby. Suicide note claims money lenders were harassing and based on the information police have started investigation.

After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post-mortem and the police registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation. The accused is a habitual criminal and has been booked for more than four dozen crimes by different police stations of the city.

On Wednesday the deceased committed suicide by hanging with the ceiling at his house in Mayur Vihar. At the time of the suicide his wife had gone to her parents’ house to attend a marriage in Gwalior.
