Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the good showing by the BJP in the Uttar Pradesh civic polls means that the people are happy with the performance of the current government in the state. “In last eight months, my government has taken some decisions in public interest. Today's result should be an eye opener for all. I thank all voters who took part in the electoral process. We won due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah’s development policies,” he said.

Three independent candidates Pramod Jayaswal, Rukshana and Vijay Sahu win Nagar Panchayat seats in Jafrabad, Madiyahun and Kerakat respectively in Jaunpur.

BSP candidate Mohammad Furkan wins Mayor seat in Aligarh

The BJP wins 12 mayoral seats and is ahead in two in the Uttar Pradesh municipal elections. The BSP has won two mayoral seat.

In a major embarrassment for the Congress, the BJP has won the Amethi Nagar Panchayat elections. Amethi is the constituency of Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi and is considered a bastion of the party.

BJP's Maya Tripathi loses ward no 68 in Gorakhpur. Independent candidate Nadira wins. Gorakhnath Temple is situated in this ward. 

BJP's mayor candidates have won in Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Ghaziabad, Firozabad, Ayodhya, Mathura, Saharanpur and Moradabad. BJP nominees are ahead in Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi and Allahabad.

BJP wins 10 mayoral seats and is ahead in 4 in the Uttar Pradesh municipal elections. The BSP has won one mayoral seat and is leading in another.

BJP's mayor candidates wins in Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Ayodhya, Mathura, Saharanpur and Moradabad. The BSP has won in Aligarh and is leading in Meerut. BJP nominees are ahead in Ghaziabad, Bareilly, Agra, Firozabad, Kanpur, Jhansi, Allahabad and Lucknow.

BJP wins 6 mayoral seats and is ahead in 8 in the Uttar Pradesh municipal elections. The BSP has won one mayoral seat and is leading in another.

Bharatiya Janta Party wins Nagar Panchayat in Amethi

BJP wins 5 mayoral seats and is ahead in 9 in the Uttar Pradesh municipal elections. The BSP has won one mayoral seat and is leading in another.

The BJP wins four mayoral seats and is ahead in nine in the Uttar Pradesh municipal elections. The BSP has won one seat and is leading in two.

BJP's Sanyukta Bhatia is currently leading the race to be the next mayor of Lucknow. If elected, Bhatia will become the first woman Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC). LMC consists of 110 wards and each ward has 10-12 localities under its formation. The present mayor of LMC is Suresh Awasthi.

Mathura: BJP candidate Mukesh Arya has won the contest for the Mayor's seat in Mathura Municipal Corporation. Arya has defeted his rival and Congress candidate Mohan Singh. This is the first election for the recently merged Mathura and Vrindavan municipal boards which now constitute the Mathura Nagar Nigam.

In Kanpur, BJP is leading with 44125 votes, Congress is second with 34213, BSP is third with 12296 and SP in fourth place with 6306

The entire BSP campaign was low key. BSP seems to be picking up votes in areas with substantial Dalit population in western UP and Bundelkhand region.

BJP's mayor candidates are leading in Saharanpur, Ghaziabad, Firozabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, Allahabad, Bareilly, Moradabad, Gorakhpur and Ayodhya as per initial trends. The BSP is leading in Aligarh, Meerut, Agra and Jhansi. 

BJP's mayor candidates are leading in Aligarh, Saharanpur, Ghaziabad, Firozabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, Allahabad, Bareilly, Moradabad, Gorakhpur and Ayodhya as per initial trends. The BSP is leading in Meerut, Agra and Jhansi. 

In Allahabad, BJP is leading 6922 with votes, SP is second with 2934 votes, BSP in third place with 999 votes
