COLVA: South Goa district and sessions court has sentenced Deva Biswas from West Bengal to undergo life imprisonment for the murder of Shiva Bakti from Assam two years ago. Biswas has also been sentenced to three years rigorous imprisonment for attempting to destroy evidence.
In their chargesheet, Verna police had submitted that both, the accused and victim, were working in a restaurant at Verna. On the midnight of July 7, 2015, the accused attacked the deceased with a chopper and then smashed his head on a gas cylinder after which he tried to destroy evidence.
