Haryana govt to appoint Miss World Manushi Chhillar as Brand Ambassador for campaign to prevent anaemia among women
Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar while addressing a press conference along with Miss World title winner Manushi Chhillar during the International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra on November 30 announced the appointment of Miss Chhillar as the Brand Ambassador for the campaign to prevent anaemia among women in the state.
He
also extended support to Chhillar's 'Shakti Project' of spreading awareness
about menstrual and reproductive health and hygiene among girls. Khattar
announced the free supply of sanitary napkins to teen-aged girls in all schools
of the state to support the project.
According to Khattar, about 61 per cent women in
Haryana are
suffering from anaemia and his government will be spending Rs 18 crore on this
scheme of preventing the disease.
Speaking on this occasion, Chhillar said that she owed a lot to
her home state Haryana and as a medical student of Khanpur Medial College she
had a dream to do something for girls in Haryana through her project and new
assignments.
