A day after releasing the first list of 70 candidates, the BJP on Saturday late evening announced another list of 36 more candidates. With the fresh list, the ruling party has announced 106 candidates out of a total of 182 seats.
In the list, former Councillor of Ahmedabad Balram Thavani has replaced Minister Nirmalaben Vaghvani in Naroda Assembly seat which is dominated by Sindhi community. Thavani couldn’t get ticket from BJP to contest for local body polls due to three children rule in 2010. The party instead gave ticket to his younger brother. Minister of State for Home Pradipsinh Jadeja found his name from his current constituency Vasava in Ahmedabad. Bhushan Bhatt, son of late Speaker of Gujarat Assembly Ashok Bhatt has again got ticket to contest from Raipur Khadia seat.
