Grappling with high infant mortality rate (IMR), Haryana Government would launch a State newborn action plan on Wednesday.
Health Minister Anil Vij will launch Haryana newborn action plan for Navjaat Shishu Suraksha Ambulance, high-risk pregnancy centre and safety of newborns, under Rashtriya Bal Swastha Karyakram of Health Department in Panchkula, said Director General, Health, Dr Satish Aggarwal.
As a pilot project, 5 ambulances would be sent to Ambala, Nuh, Mahendragarh, Bhiwani and Fatehabad districts and after their successful implementation, the facility would later be extended to rest of the districts, he said.
These ambulances would provide transportation service to seriously ill children, he added.
