JDA holds meeting for Dravyawati River project

JAIPUR: The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) is burning it's midnight oil to meet the deadline of chief minister's pet rejuvenation of Dravyawati River project.

In a review meeting on Wednesday, the Jaipur Development Commissioner, Vaibhav Galeriya directed the officals and awarded firm to seek necessary approval of all civil works before December 15. An official in meeting informed, the JDA has decided to provide the design of parallel road to the firm by next Tuesday. The civic body will also seek permission of traffic police to keep the work uninterrupted all through the day.

The JDA has also set January deadline to complete all three parks , which will be developed under the project. The work will be started on war-footing. The firm assured to submit designs of food plaza, jogging track, road lights in a week's time.


The state government awarded work to consortium of Tata Projects and Shanghai Urban Construction Group to develop the area by the riverside into a beautiful landscape. The firm is now working on a Rs 1,676 crore project to restore the river by August 15, 2018.


"Directions were given to prepare time-bound action plan. The firm has been given deadline to develop of three big parks and install sewerage treatment plant (STP) by January ," said a JDA official.


It was informed, under the project, three parks will be developed in catchment area of the river. Under the 'Rejuvenation of Dravyavati River project, the JDA will develop a bird park over an area of 3.68 hectares near Panipech on Sikar Road.


Similarly, the botanical garden and Sundar Park that will be developed under same project. The JDA has earmarked 2.95-hectare land near Shiprapath, Mansarovar to develop the botanical park. Similarly, near Bambala Puliya, the Sundar Park will be developed on 2.98-hectare land.
