Govt. taking initiatives to encourage farming, he says

The State government is building camp offices for all the MLAs to enable the general public to have better access to their elected legislators, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari said.

Inaugurating the MLA Camp Office at Wardhannapet mandal headquarters in the district on Wednesday, he said the TRS government had initiated many innovative programmes and projects in the 40 months of its regime.

The State government would provide funds for construction of degree and junior college buildings, he said and asked the local MLA to help acquire two acres of land for each institution.

Supply of round-the-clock power and input subsidy of ₹8,000 per acre per year to all farmers were some of the welfare measures aimed at helping the farming community, he said.

Roads & Buildings Minister Thummala Nageswar Rao assured that the more funds would be sanctioned to Wardhannapet constituency for development of roads in the next budget. “We have spent ₹30,000 crore for State roads and ₹10,000 crore for development of National Highways in the state,” he said promising to release more funds for further development of the Wardhannapet MLA camp office.

Incharge District Collector K. Amrapali said more focus would be laid on development of roads in the constituency next year. Presently, roads around the town were being developed. “You will soon have central lighting, improved traffic islands and junctions,” she said.

MLA Aruri Ramesh said new mandals were added to the constituency due to reorganization of districts and more funds were needed for development. He wanted R&B Minister to sanction ₹30 lakh for construction of guest house and shopping complex at the mandal headquarters. MP P. Dayakar, MLA Errabelli Dayakar Rao were present.
