DHAKA: The ferry services on Paturia-Doulatdia and Kathalbari-Shimulia routes in Manikganj and Madaripur resumed after hours of disruption due to dense fog Thursday (November 30).
The services were earlier halted since 3:30am on Paturia-Daulatdia route and 5:00am on Kathalbari-Shimulia route, due to low visibility.
Later, the ferry plying resumed at around 8:30am on the both routes as fog started to disappear, said Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) authorities from the ghat offices.
However, hundreds of vehicles waited on the river banks as the ferries waited for visibility to improve.
