Suicide case: Bathinda villagers to protest in Patiala on Dec 3

Bathinda: With no police action even after eight days of suicide by Mandi Kalan villager Bhupinder Singh (23), who had blamed assistant sub inspector (ASI) Jagroop Singh for his act in the suicide note, the villagers and farm organisations on Wednesday decided to hold a protest near Punjab CM Amarinder Singh's residence in Patiala on December 3. They plan to take the body at the protest site.


The villagers want case under abetment of suicide charges against ASI, a job to the victim's family members and compensation. Bhupinder was facing NDPS act case before committing suicide and had committed suicide on November 21 by consuming poisonous substance. A suicide note was recovered from his body, wherein he had accused ASI Jagroop Singh and a Maur resident Satish Kumar responsible for his taking the extreme step.


SP (investigations) Swaran Singh Khanna said "police is investigating into the allegations of ASI demanding money and through investigations are being made".
