2 kids drown

Two children drowned in a pond at Rajpara village in Mathbaria upazila yesterday.

The deceased are Abdullah, 4, son of Emdadul Haque Fakir, and Ayesha, 3, daughter of Alamgir Hossain Fakir.

UP Chairman Delwar Hossain Akan said Abdullah and Ayesha fell into the pond while they were playing near it.

Family members found their bodies floating in the pond and took them to Mathbaria Upazila Health Complex, where the doctors declared them dead, he said.
