‘Set up helipad for CM Siddaramaiah visit’
Karwar: “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will visit Bhatkal, Kumta, Karwar, Sirsi, Mundgod and Haliyal in Uttara Kannada district on December 6 and 7 and so, helipad must be set up in the district for landing of his helicopter”, District In-charge Minister R V Deshpande instructed PWD officers.
Speaking at a preliminary meeting held to discuss the preparations to be made for the CM’s visit, Mr Deshpande said that the CM will inaugurate various development work and lay foundation stone for some during his visit to the district.
He said that the officers must ensure that the beneficiaries of various schemes of the government, attend the programme and share their stories.
He asked the officers to follow protocol while printing names of dignitaries in the invitation cards. He said that if four to five work of a single department are being initiated, they all can be listed in a single invitation card.
Taking PWD Executive Engineer to task for not taking up the tender process for construction of the hanging bridge across Teelmathi beach though it was sanctioned a year back, Mr Deshpande said that he was considering to hand over the project to others concerned in case the PWD was not interested in taking up the work.
On the occasion, posters of the three-day Karavali Utsav to begin from December 8, was released.
Karnataka State Fisheries Development Corporation Chief Rajendra Naik, ZP Standing Committee President Shivanand Hegde, CMC President Ganapathi Naik and officers of various departments attended the meeting.
