50 novel ideas to be funded for 4 months

The Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) has just made its monthly Idea Day a lot bigger by venturing to fund 50 novel ideas for the next four months from December.

Innovative, socially-relevant and scalable ideas from various sectors will be considered for funding, ranging between ₹2 lakh and ₹10 lakh, depending on the stage of implementation of ideas.

Students, start-ups, and innovators working on ideas or trying to productise their products or scale up the existing ones can apply.

Release of grants

The Idea Day, conceptualised to promote innovation in the State, has proved to be a success, especially with the release of grant to more than 25 start-ups, students, and individuals from over 700 applications.

It has turned out to be a blessing for start-ups as well as individuals at various levels, as they usually find it difficult to conceptualise products owing to lack of funding in the very early stages.

“The Idea Day has really helped us take our project to the next level. It was with the help of the State government that we could complete the Robotics project and pitch to Taipe University, Taiwan,” said Vimal G., CEO, Genrobotics.

He had managed to earn support when he was a student at the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre, MES, Kuttippuram.

Meanwhile, KSUM has identified diverse sectors ranging from hardware, Internet of Things, ERP, platforms and aggregators, block chain, AR / VR, and AI for the Idea Day in December.

Those working on start-ups with their product and having strong solutions may apply before December 12 at https://startupmission.kerala.gov.in/pages/ideaday.
